“Coming from a small town 20 minutes away from Ann Arbor, I always knew I had a community behind me, but I really wanted to branch out and find my own people. I was worried about navigating such a large environment, but from the moment I joined Alpha Phi, I knew I had found my home away from home.

As a sophomore, I’ve been able to strengthen my relationships with my sisters across all years. Whether it’s grabbing coffee with new members, spending time with my MC at sisterhood events, or living in a senior house this year, I can genuinely say that I’ve always been surrounded by comfort, kindness, and warmth.

I am so incredibly grateful for Alpha Phi and the sisters it has brought into my life. The lifelong friendships and love Alpha Phi has given me have truly been the highlight of my experience at Michigan. “I came to Michigan worried I wouldn’t find the same feeling of comfort and love as my mom and sister did here. It was daunting, but I knew I would have my sister there to guide me through the transition, and I will always be so grateful for that♥️

I thought going into rush with my sister in Alpha Phi would make the rush process different, so I went in with an open mind, knowing I wanted to end up where I felt most at home. Walking out of Alpha Phi each round of rush, I felt so welcomed and fulfilled, like I really belonged there. It is safe to say that although my sister made me feel secure in Alpha Phi, my decision came from all of the wonderful girls I met during rush.

I have met so many amazing people that make me confident in my decision. I got the most amazing big, best friends, and now two older sisters at Michigan to look up to. Alpha Phi has already made my college experience so much better, and I am beyond excited to call it home for the next four years ♥️”

“A few years ago, I was diagnosed with an Atrial Septal Defect (ASD), as well as tears within several of my heart valves. As a result, I had to undergo major open heart surgery. Alpha Phi reminds me that I’m not defined by my cardiac condition and surgery, but by the resilience and purpose that came from it. Every fundraiser we host, from Joe’s Phizza to candy grams and other Heart Health Week events, aren’t just about raising money. We get the opportunity to create more meaningful bonds, channeling our energy into a cause that matters deeply. I am so grateful to have lifelong sisters from Alpha Phi♥️♥️♥️

“As I look back at my experience in Phi as a senior, I can’t help but be so grateful for all phi has given me.

I went into freshman year not expecting to rush, and ended up deciding very last minute to, not knowing what to expect at all. But from the very beginning, I loved every moment of it and met the most incredible, diverse group of girls through Alpha Phi. By the time I reached pref, I knew there was nowhere else I wanted to be.

My experience in Phi has genuinely changed my life for the better. My favorite part has been finding my best friends and sisters for life. Being so far away from my home and family in Thailand, these girls have truly become my family too. From living in the house with @julesalfieri and @sydtremayne, to 611 with @vicky.vanwoerkom and @miafdcc, and now the best senior house ever (841!! 🌟) with @marinrae_ and @simone__forte, every stage has been unforgettable. Living with six of my best friends truly feels like one big slumber party every day. And aside from 841, I’m the luckiest girl ever to have @charlireda as my little 🥹🥹 my best friend, life companion, everything in one, I don’t know what I would ever do without her. I am endlessly grateful to Alpha Phi for bringing me friendships that will last a lifetime.”

Happy Sunday Senior Spotlight from Alpha Phi’s past President, Lily Trudeau 💛💛

“As I get ready for my next chapter in NYC, I can’t help but reflect on how much Alpha Phi has given me. From my very first day of recruitment to now, Phi has gifted me the most valuable friendships and opportunities.

Serving as President during my sophomore and junior year, was a foundational experience in my time at Michigan. Leading this chapter, surrounded by genuine, driven, and kind women, allowed me to be challenged in new ways and helped me discover the confidence and strength I’ll carry into life beyond Michigan.

I feel so lucky to have spent these past four years surrounded by my best friends and family, whether that be crammed in the TV room of 1830 Hill Street or a few steps away from each other in our senior houses. Although next year we will all be just a little bit further apart, I already can’t wait for sleepovers, trips, and even reunions with our already graduated bigs and grandbigs. Alpha Phi will always be home no matter where we are.”

“Still in pure awe of this weekend!! We hosted our annual Red Dress Gala and raised $36,000 for Women’s Heart Health. Since 1946, the Alpha Phi Foundation has been dedicated to advancing women’s heart health and funding groundbreaking research that saves lives. Serving as the Director of Philanthropy has truly been one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve ever had. I feel so grateful to have a hand in raising money for a cause that impacts so many women across the world. I am endlessly grateful to be part of a chapter like Alpha Phi that carries this philanthropy so close to its heart and pours so much love and support into every event!!! ❤️❤️”

“Growing up between Singapore and Italy, moving to Michigan was one of the biggest jumps I’ve ever made, and at first, it felt like I was doing it alone. That changed the day I met Mariana during a math tutoring session. As a fellow international student, she quickly became one of my closest friends and the person I can’t imagine life in Michigan without. We weren’t sure if Greek life was for us, but we took a chance and I’m so grateful we did. From hanging out every day in AA to meeting up in Paris and Italy this summer, Alpha Phi has brought us closer together & given us the best memories.

Yet today, I can say I can’t imagine my life without it. We met unexpectedly and Phi gave us a special place to connect. I feel so grateful to have found Alpha Phi, as it has allowed me to deepen my connections and friendships with people from all around the world. I look forward to many more memories together and a lifelong friendship.
